We have signed up to the Plastic Free Schools campaign, engaging with Surfers Against Sewage with the objective to improve our environment. Much of the inspiration for this has come from David Attenborough’s Blue Planet 2 and Plastic Free Penzance.
Our aim is to free where we live from single-use plastic. The avoidable stuff that’s everywhere. This includes plastic bottles, sachets, takeaway containers and excessive food packaging. They’re in our schools, our playgrounds, our parks and our streets, and they’re having a huge impact on our environment.
Our school Eco-Council is empowered to make positive changes for the environment and our school. Our journey will require us to complete objectives including litter pics, an analysis of our single-use plastic as a school, challenging government on their plastic policies and making positive eco-friendly changes to our school and the community to become more sustainable.
We are currently on our path to achieve the status of an accredited plastic free school.
Let’s eliminate single-use plastic together!
