Mr Wilson
Head of School
Hello!
I have the great honour of being Head of School at Shortlanesend. I joined the school in 2009 as Year4/5/6 teacher and Assistant Head and have enjoyed every minute of my time here since. Before I arrived here I taught in a range of schools in Hayle, Plymouth (my home town) and Bedford. I have been involved in education for over 25 years; through which I remained true to ideal that education is about developing the whole child - igniting a life-long love of learning, I believe that the children, parents and staff at Shortlanesend school are equally passionate about education, and all help to create a friendly, warm, safe and stimulating environment.
Outside of school I am a passionate supporter of many sports - especially rugby, enjoy live music and spending quality time with my wife and two children.
Mr Easter
Gannel Class Teacher
Hello,
My name is Mr Mark Easter and I am currently the teacher of Gannel Class. I have now been at Shortlanesend for 5 years and it has been an absolute privilege to work in such a supportive and friendly school. All the children at the school are amazing and are always surprising me with their curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm. Teaching is a relatively new profession for me after many years of being a chef and then working in the environmental sector with Natural England (12 years as a Reserve Warden on Goss Moor National Nature Reserve). I am passionate about the outdoors and wildlife and love wet and windy walks down at the beach or in the woods with my family.
Mrs Lewis
Fal Class Teacher
Hello I am Mrs Lewis and I teach Year 2 in Fal Class.
I started teaching back in 2007 in Oxford at a lovely but challenging school. I enjoyed it so much that I taught there for nearly 7 years! During my teaching career, I have taught all ages from Nursery all the way up to Year 4.
I joined SLE in 2017 and have enjoyed every minute of my time here. It is such a wonderful school with great staff and fantastic children.
Currently I am History, Geography and PSHE Leader. I am also in charge of leading the Read Write Inc phonics program through the school. I also run the school netball team, which I love as I play netball for Falmouth in my spare time.
Other things that keep me busy when I am not working are going for walks on the beach and coastal paths with my son Archie and our dog Buzz. I love exploring new places around Cornwall and you'll often find me on a woodland walk or National Trust property on my days off.
Miss Adler
Kenwyn Class Teacher
I feel incredibly fortunate to join the excellent team at Shortlanesend School. I work in Kenwyn Class with the wonderful year ones.
I grew up in London during my early years and later moved to Cornwall. I returned to London to work and do my Art degree. After finishing, I travelled to India where I voluntarily taught in different schools. This was such an enriching experience, it helped me realise my passion for creative teaching. I enjoy learning new things from the children every day; they never stop surprising me with their fun facts!
I missed Cornwall so much, I couldn't wait to come back! I am a lover of the great outdoors. I like to walking on the beach, sea swimming and reading. I also love baking and spending time with family and friends.
