Autumn Term 2021

Welcome to the 2021 Autumn term in Lynher class. This term we will be learning about magnificent mountains!
Magnificent mountains peak above the morning mists, imposing and eternal, rocky outcrops at their feet. Lynher will discover how these giants are formed, as a fold or a block, a dome or a plateau. We will be learning about the characteristics and features of rivers which will lead us to follow the water cycle’s course from peak to valley and meet the exceptional tribes of the hostile Himalayas. This topic is full of exciting explorations! For further detail, please have a look at our curriculum map for this term.

Homework Autumn 2021
Class information

Welcome back to Shortlanesend School and welcome to Class Lynher! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to another wonderful year as either year 5’s or year 4’s.

PE will be on a Monday and a Wednesday. Could I please ask that you wear your PE kit on the day, as the weather gets colder it may be required that you wear warm outdoor clothing for example; joggers or bring an additional jumper. PE will start this Wednesday.

Homework will start on Monday 13th September. Could I please request that all homework books are returned to school every Friday alongside your child/ children’s reading record. This is so we can monitor your child’s reads to ensure they receive their key ring once they have achieved 25 reads. Homework books will be returned on a Monday.

As ever, if you need anything or wish to discuss something please contact the office so we can timetable an appointment.

Many thanks,

Miss E Eddison
